C.A.R.E

Read on to learn what C.A.R.E. stands for and how to utilize it when assessing your loved ones needs.

Family. Utilizing C.A.R.E. to determine your home care needs.

C.A.R.E. stands for cues, assistance, responsiveness, and engagement which is broken down deeper below.

C. Cues

Have you noticed changes in their housekeeping, hygiene, or appearance? This can indicate that your loved one may need assistance keeping up with these tasks. Similarly it can show unresolved health issues or loneliness your loved one may be experiencing.

A. Assistance

Does your loved one struggle with day-to-day activities such as walking, cooking, cleaning, or dressing? Physical changes within the body can make everyday duties difficult to manage. When visiting with your loved ones, monitor their environment to ensure it is clean and free of falling hazards signaling they need extra help.

R. Responsiveness

A sudden decline in mental health, behavioral changes, or forgetfulness can be indicators of physical or emotional distress that may require outside help. Unpaid bills, isolating themselves, or agitation during conversations are common tells of these concerns.

E. Engagement

Having social interactions is a vital part of happiness and contentment throughout life, although the aging process may cause isolation. This can be caused by health, capability, and location of living though it can also severely impact each of those. Home care allows the client to have some social interaction with the caregiver or even the assistance to go outside of their home and get it.

C.A.R.E. is a simple and valuable tool families can use to help determine if home care is necessary for you. Though, always seek out medical expertise from your loved ones doctor and speak with a home care agency to schedule a consultation. Miracle Home Care would love to do a free in-home consultation to discuss your needs as well as assist you with a plan of action. Give us a call today to learn all the ways we can help make your life easier!
